By Delicia Janneire | February 11, 2025

With less than a week to go, the Guyana Energy Conference and Supply Chain Expo 2025 is set to open, bringing together stakeholders, legislators, and business executives for four days of discussions on advancements in the oil and gas sector.

President Dr. Irfaan Ali has described this year’s conference as more expansive and diverse, offering a platform for policymakers to drive energy sector growth and integration.

Scheduled for February 18-21, the conference will be held under the theme “Connecting the Dots, Integrating the Future” and will feature key addresses from President Ali, Dominican Republic President Luis Abinader, and other regional leaders, government ministers, and industry stakeholders.

A notable addition to this year’s event is a student forum, where Vice President Dr. Bharrat Jagdeo will engage students from across the country, including the University of Guyana, in discussions about the energy industry’s future.

As part of the conference activities, a 5K run is scheduled for Saturday, February 16.

Additionally, attendees will experience a cultural showcase, featuring Guyanese heritage and cuisine, aimed at highlighting the country’s rich traditions.

Last year’s conference recorded over 4,000 participants, 190 exhibitors, and more than 70 speakers.

Organizers anticipate that this year’s event will exceed these figures, further positioning Guyana as a key player in the global energy market.
