The Civil Defence Commission (CDC) and the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) are preparing to send additional relief supplies to Grenada following Hurricane Beryl.

This initiative forms part of Guyana’s ongoing efforts to assist Caribbean nations affected by the recent hurricane.

According to Patrice Wishart, Public Information Officer of the CDC, the upcoming shipment, scheduled to depart tomorrow, includes a range of essential items such as building materials, food, hygiene products, and cleaning supplies.

These supplies aim to support all those impacted by the hurricane in Grenada, regardless of the severity of their losses.

Wishart highlighted the strong support received from both the government and private sector.

He noted that individuals and organizations have been generously contributing supplies based on identified needs since Hurricane Beryl began affecting the region.

This humanitarian effort, initiated by President Dr. Irfaan Ali, underscores Guyana’s solidarity with its fellow CARICOM countries during times of crisis.

The CDC continues to actively gather and prepare relief items, demonstrating Guyana’s commitment to aiding its neighbors in rebuilding and recovering from the aftermath of Hurricane Beryl.
