In a thrilling showdown at the Guyana Football Federation’s National Training Centre, defending champions Guyana Defence Force (GDF) put an end to Police FC’s winning streak in an impressive victory during their season 6 KFC Elite League clash.

Inform Elite league side Police FC faced an unexpected setback when they clashed with defending champions, the Guyana Defence Force, on Saturday.

The match started with a statement from the soldiers as Kevin Layne swiftly converted a chance on the first play, giving GDF an early lead.

However, GDF’s advantage was short-lived as a foul outside the box resulted in a free kick for them.

Chris Macey capitalized on the opportunity, firing in a remarkable shot to equalize the score 1-1 in the 23rd minute.

GDF continued to assert their dominance as Olvis Mitchell secured the go-ahead goal in the 33rd minute, followed by Ian Dooker extending their lead to 3-1 just before halftime.

Despite Police FC’s efforts to mount a comeback in the second half, with Neron Barrow scoring in the 54th minute, GDF remained resilient.

Ryan Hackett widened the gap with another goal in the 72nd minute, bringing the scoreline to 4-2 in favor of GDF.

Macey sealed the victory for GDF with his second goal in injury time, securing a comfortable 5-2 win over Police FC.
