In a commanding display at the Guyana Football Federation National Training Center, the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) affirmed their dominance in the second half of Season Six of the KFC Elite League, remaining unbeaten after a resounding victory over Monedderlust from Berbice.
The match saw GDF take an early lead with goals from Ryan Hackett in the 8th minute and Stephen McDonald in the 10th minute, setting a formidable pace.
Despite a goal from Monedderlust’s Ntini Bobb in the 17th minute, McDonald extended GDF’s lead with another goal in the 28th minute, securing a 3-1 advantage by halftime.
In the second half, Runnel Gordon added to GDF’s tally with a goal in the 65th minute, sealing a comfortable 4-1 victory that reflected their dominance throughout the game.
With this win, the Guyana Defence Force maintains a strong position at the top of the league standings, boasting 11 wins in 12 matches with 1 draw.
Slingerz FC holds the second position, followed closely by the Guyana Police Force in third.
In the league’s opening match, Slingerz FC demonstrated their prowess by defeating Fruta Conquerors 3-0.
The match saw an own goal from Fruta’s Osafo Jackson early on, followed by goals from Simeon Moore and Curtez Kellaman, securing a decisive victory for the Tucville-based team.
