The National Cultural Centre was transformed into a tropical showcase of culture, creativity and confidence last night, as the Miss Guyana Princess Pageant crowned its newest queen under the theme, ‘Echoes of Paradise.’
It was a night that celebrated not just beauty, but heritage, talent and family.
It was a night of glitz, grace and pure Guyanese pride, as the National Cultural Centre came alive for the Miss Guyana Princess Pageant, held under the theme, ‘Echoes of Paradise.
The show opened with a performance from Diana Chapman, before delegates took the stage for a creative wear display showcasing the country’s culture, then a recyclable wear segment where each princess designed an outfit from recycled items and materials.
From there, the talent portion featured spoken word, poetry, singing and dancing.
Fathers and brothers assisted the princesses through the evening wear presentation, while mothers walked their daughters through the final look, set against a performance by Faith Corrica-Nedd.
During the show, Charmaine Blackman and steel pan legend Roy Geddes were honoured for their cultural contributions, a past delegate was crowned Miss Teen With A Purpose, and the princesses closed with a Q&A segment before a cheering crowd.
Best Talent for the night went to Stephanie Harrinananwhile Chelseah Williams won best smile and Omalia Willams, Best Recycled Wear
The winner of the Q&A was Lucy Leo who also secure the best princess presentation.
Zoey Clarke won Best Evening Wear and Atiena Chester, Best Creative Wear.
Atiena Chester was crowned the new Miss Guyana Princess, with Katalina Carter as first runner-up and Omalia Williams as second runner-up.
For one night, the National Cultural Centre belonged to Guyana’s littlest princesses proving that under the theme ‘Echoes of Paradise,’ the real paradise was the confidence, culture and character each of them brought to that stage.
