Competing at the Indoor World Cup in Nottingham, England, Guyana’s over-45 team remained undefeated until the final match, where they narrowly lost to the host country, England, with a score of 5-4.

President of the Guyana Hockey Board, Phillip Fernandes, expressed his delight at the team’s exceptional performance.

“The team really exceeded expectations,” Fernandes remarked, highlighting their journey to the final, where they showcased remarkable skill and determination.

Fernandes emphasized the team’s impressive victories throughout the tournament, including wins against formidable opponents such as France (3-2), England (7-4), Canada (10-2), and Wales (6-5) during the pool rounds.
