Guyana and the United Kingdom are poised to elevate their economic relationship through innovative approaches, following a recent reception held in honor of the UK delegation led by His Majesty’s Trade Commissioner for Latin America and the Caribbean, Jonathan Knott.
During the event, Knott emphasized the evolving business landscape between Guyanese and British companies and urged for a strategic enhancement of their partnership.
He highlighted the need to form international collaborations to maximize the current opportunities.
Finance Minister Dr. Ashni Singh praised the efforts of UK High Commissioner Jane Miller and her team in fostering business relations.
He pointed out that the 2.1 billion pounds allocated by the UK Export Finance agency had been fully utilized, advocating for further increases in funding ceilings to accommodate more British investments.
High Commissioner Miller underscored the benefits of partnering with British companies, noting their reliability and the strength they bring to bilateral relations.
Knott also engaged in discussions with President Dr. Irfaan Ali and other officials to explore various business proposals.
