Preparations are in full swing as the Sophia Exhibition Centre gets ready to host one of the largest and most highly anticipated events in the Caribbean—Guy Expo.

The final inspection of the venue was conducted earlier today by the Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce, Hon. Oneidge Walrond.

Guy Expo, dubbed the longest-sustained exhibition in the Caribbean, will open tomorrow and is expected to attract over 280 exhibitors, both local and international.

The event is themed “Guyana on Show—The Fastest Growing Economy” and will showcase the country’s diverse culture and emerging economic prominence on the global stage.

During her inspection, Minister Walrond highlighted the significant transformations the venue has undergone in preparation for the event.

She praised the quality of branding and signage, noting that the venue now reflects international standards, with exhibitors putting in extra effort to enhance their spaces.

The trade and investment exposition presents an excellent opportunity for both established and emerging businesses to gain exposure, not just within Guyana but also in the wider Caribbean region and beyond, including markets outside the CARICOM region.

Walrond emphasized that Guy Expo serves as an invaluable platform for local businesses and those seeking to establish a presence in Guyana and the international marketplace.

The exhibition will run until Sunday, November 18th, offering a unique opportunity to experience Guyana’s rapid development and its growing role in global commerce.
