Guinness Unleashes Hidden DJ Talents in “Sounds of Greatness” Initiative

Guinness, the renowned beverage brand, has launched an innovative program titled “Guinness Sounds of Greatness” aimed at discovering and nurturing hidden DJ talents among youths.

The initiative was officially unveiled at The Grill and Jerk Guinness Bar, located at South Road and Cummings Street.

“Guinness Sounds of Greatness” provides a platform and financial support for aspiring DJs to showcase their skills and gain recognition.

Brand Executive, Lee Baptise, emphasized that the competition not only seeks to unearth and promote young talents but also aims to empower them to pursue their passion and unlock their full potential.

“The Guinness Sounds of Greatness will first bring constructive social activity within the communities. As you know, DJing is a form of income for many youths within the community. It will also assist them in honing their skills, making them more employable, even if it’s just a hobby,” explained Lee Baptise.

Richard Francois, a seasoned professional in the music industry with over two decades of experience, emphasized the importance of artistry and excellence in DJing. He advised young DJs to master song structure, music arrangement, and phrasing, emphasizing the significance of crowd engagement and musical knowledge.

Several accomplished DJs who are now part of the Guinness Brand commended the initiative, highlighting the opportunities it offers for the youth.

Deon Marks, also known as DJ Breeze, expressed that “Sounds of Greatness” celebrates music and provides a platform for young DJs to be recognized for their musical skills.

Dwain Bowen, aka Mix Master Toney, commended Guinness for engaging more youths in activities outside of the streets, emphasizing the positive impact of the initiative.

Keevin Belfielcd, DJ King Keev, praised Guinness for providing a platform for local DJ talents to showcase their skills and seize opportunities.

The competition, commencing in New Amsterdam the following weekend, will span nine weeks and feature a total of 19 sub-meets, culminating in the finals in December. Participating DJs will receive a stipend to prepare for their competition, with a grand total of 1.5 million dollars in cash and prizes up for grabs. The top finalists will also have the opportunity to join the Guinness team.
