Guinness Street Football Season Returns with Georgetown Leg

After a four-year hiatus, the highly anticipated Guinness greatest of the street football championship is making a triumphant comeback.

Brand Executive Lee Baptiste revealed that they are poised to recapture the success of the tournament’s golden years.

Baptiste announced plans to host all the regular area meets, including a new competition in Essequibo, as part of their ambitious return.

The goal is to thrill street football enthusiasts across the country with an electrifying revival.

The tournament will kick off with the Georgetown leg, breaking tradition by starting in the city rather than concluding there.

This decision, according to Baptiste, is a strategic move to ignite excitement from the get-go.

Coordinator of the Guinness tournaments, Rawle Welsh, expressed anticipation for a scorching competition after the COVID-induced hiatus.

He emphasized the tournament’s significance and hinted at increased participation from more teams.

Renowned teams such as Alexander Village, Sparta Boss, Albouystown, Sophia, and others are set to compete, promising thrilling matches for fans.

The tournament will span multiple playing days throughout March, with the final showdown scheduled for the 31st.

Sponsored by Colours Boutique and Banks DIH, the Guinness Street Football Championship promises to deliver exhilarating action and fierce competition to football enthusiasts nationwide.
