Graham’s Hall Primary Triumphs in GNBS “Standards in Academia” Quiz Competition

The Guyana National Bureau of Standards (GNBS) concluded its “Standards in Academia Quiz Competition” at the Arthur Chung Conference Centre yesterday, marking the successful end of its third edition.

Graham’s Hall Primary School emerged as the winner, outshining twenty participating schools from Regions Three, Four, Five, Six, and Georgetown.

The competition aimed to educate primary-level pupils about standardization and metrology.

In a tightly contested event, Graham’s Hall Primary took the top spot, with students demonstrating a deep understanding of the topics.

Malachi Nelson, a pupil from Graham’s Hall Primary, expressed his joy at winning, describing the experience as both rewarding and fun.

His teacher, Maureen Hunte-Singh, shared her pride in her students, highlighting their confidence and teamwork throughout the competition.

Acting Executive Director of GNBS, Al Fraser, praised the competition for promoting the importance of standards among young people.

He emphasized that the event not only tested the students’ knowledge but also fostered critical thinking, teamwork, and a passion for learning.

St. Therese’s Primary School from Region Six secured second place.

The first-place winner received a trophy and a fifty-thousand-dollar gift voucher, while the second-place team was awarded a trophy and a twenty-five-thousand-dollar gift voucher.
