Thousands of students across Guyana who are currently in Grade 6 and Grade 11 will sit their mock examinations this week, with Grade 6 students sitting their English and Science examinations today, followed by Mathematics and Social Studies on Thursday.
Each subject features two papers, with English being an exception.
Minister of Education, Sonia Parag, in a message to students, parents, and teachers, emphasized the importance of these exams as a tool to identify strengths and areas for improvement ahead of the final exams.

Meanwhile, Grade 11 students will sit their first mathematics mock exam on Thursday, an exam that is designed to help them assess their abilities ahead of the CSEC examinations.
Parents are encouraged to monitor results closely, to guide their children’s preparation, while students are urged to stay calm, rest well, and approach the exams with confidence.
The second set of mock exams for both NGSA and CSEC Mathematics will take place in February next year, providing students with another opportunity to improve.
