The mobile unit, now stationed at the New Georgetown Substation, can be quickly relocated to support different areas of the network.

Kurt Baptiste, Specialized Equipment and Substation Maintenance Engineer, says it will provide temporary backup power during maintenance, system upgrades, or emergencies.

The new system will help deliver shorter outages, often just minutes long, while teams safely switch over and conduct repairs.

Additional mobile substations will soon be added in Essequibo and Berbice.
