The Guyana Police Force (GPF) is reminding vehicle owners to ensure that their registration numbers are clear and legible, as non-standard license plates may hinder road safety efforts.

Acting Traffic Chief, Superintendent Shellon Daniels, addressed the issue during a recent episode of Road Safety and You.

Daniels emphasized that the use of non-standard, fancy designs on license plates can obstruct visibility, making it difficult for law enforcement and other road users to read the registration number.

She reiterated that vehicle owners must adhere to regulations requiring standard block letters on license plates to avoid penalties and ensure road safety compliance.

In addition, Daniels highlighted the ongoing concern regarding the non-use of helmets by motorcyclists.

The police force remains vigilant in enforcing helmet laws as helmets play a crucial role in protecting riders in the event of an accident.

By following these regulations, road users contribute to a safer and more organized traffic environment.
