Hope is on the horizon for Region Ten families dreaming of owning their own home.
The government has intensified its housing programme, and during a visit to Region Ten, Housing Minister Collin Croal reaffirmed a bold push to allocate more house lots and open new areas for development. With enough land available to meet housing demands, the government says every eligible applicant will get their turn.

The minister emphasised that efforts are underway to clear the backlog and urged citizens to follow the right process instead of turning to squatting.
“There is enough land to be able to have all who have gone through the system and apply the right way. We have committed as a government in our manifesto, we will clear up the backlog,” Minister Croal explained.

According to Minister Croal, the government’s mandate is for all to be able to apply for a house lot and eventually own a home. He confirmed that all Phase 1 beneficiaries in Wismar will be able to access their land in November. Meanwhile, infrastructure work for Phase 2 has begun and is expected to be completed in May of next year.
