The Government’s Youth Summer Camp officially kicked off at the Civil Defence Commission building in Timehri, aiming to enhance the skills and capacities of young people across the country.
This initiative is part of a broader program being held in six locations, including Georgetown, East Coast, and East Bank Demerara.
Minister of Public Affairs Kwame McCoy, who addressed the launch, highlighted that the camp is designed to offer more than traditional academic education.
The program focuses on equipping youths with practical skills and fostering their overall development.
McCoy emphasized that the camp provides various activities, including basketball, football, cricket, and cultural drama programs, to give young people a range of options during their summer break.
The camp will run daily sessions from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM, focusing on learning strategies, values, and interpersonal skills.
