In a festive celebration, hundreds of children from various communities in Region Ten received toys and treats during the government’s Christmas toy drive and fun day.
The event, part of President Dr. Irfaan Ali’s initiative to spread Christmas cheer across the country, featured a day of fun and interaction with Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hugh Todd.
The festivities at the Retrieve hard court included games such as lime and spoon, sack races, and three-legged races.
Children also enjoyed face painting, fun zones with trampolines and bouncy castles, and received sweet treats.
Minister Hugh Todd, accompanied by Peter Ramsoroop (agency head of GO-Invest) and China’s ambassador to Guyana, Guo Haiyan, actively participated in distributing toys to the excited children.
Minister Todd emphasized the importance of sharing and spreading love during the holiday season, echoing the spirit of giving and joy.
The initiative aimed to bring smiles to the faces of children and create a memorable Christmas experience.
CFO Treats Over 5000 Kids in Linden with Annual Toy Drive
In another heartwarming event, the Caring for Others Foundation (CFO) continued its commitment to spreading Christmas cheer to children in Linden.
Led by Jermaine Figueira, the Linden representative of CFO, more than five thousand children were treated to goodies and toys at the Wisroc church compound during the organization’s second annual toy drive.
Jermaine Figueira, MP and Representative of CFO, expressed happiness at giving back to the community in a significant way.
He shared messages of goodwill and encouragement, emphasizing gratitude and the possibility of overcoming challenges.
The Caring for Others Foundation, founded by overseas-based Guyanese Eslene Shockley, focuses on eradicating poverty and supporting the development of individuals and families.
