Residents of Karasabai and neighboring villages in the South Pakaraimas, Region Nine, have commended the government for spearheading significant development projects aimed at improving the quality of life in their communities.
Key initiatives have focused on enhancing road infrastructure, expanding healthcare facilities, and increasing access to reliable electricity.
These projects are helping to advance the region and provide critical services to residents who have long faced challenges in accessing such resources.
Among the most appreciated developments is the construction of a new secondary school, reducing the need for children to travel long distances for education.
Residents also highlighted the availability of improved transportation, with buses, tractors, pickups, ATVs, and motorbikes now serving the communities.
Access to water has also significantly improved, with nearly 95% of the region now receiving consistent water supply.
Additionally, infrastructure upgrades and training programs for Community Service Officers (CSOs) are empowering residents with skills to support local development.
Villages like Rokomoto have benefited from the installation of solar panels, which have been a major asset in ensuring energy reliability.
President Dr. Irfaan Ali, during a recent visit to Region Nine, engaged with residents and reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting hinterland communities.
Residents have expressed pride in the progress being made, acknowledging the government’s efforts to bring transformative change to the South Pakaraimas.
