In a significant step towards improving healthcare access, the Ministry of Health has officially commissioned a new $45 million health centre in Swan Village, situated along the Soesdyke, Linden Highway.

The facility was inaugurated on Monday as part of the government’s broader initiative to enhance healthcare services across the country.

Minister of Health, Dr. Frank Anthony, highlighted that this new health centre represents a substantial investment in the community’s well-being.

He emphasized that the centre is part of a broader development plan that includes the establishment of a community centre, new housing quarters, and a school, all contributing to the region’s progress.

The health centre will offer a range of services including vaccination, maternal and child health care, and family planning.

Minister Anthony assured residents that doctors will regularly visit the clinic, ensuring ongoing access to essential medical services, particularly for the elderly in the community.

During the opening ceremony, the Ministry of Health also conducted an outreach program providing eye testing services and spectacle vouchers, further underscoring their commitment to community health.
