Government Enhances Youth Training and Development in Region Two

The government continues its commitment to youth development and skills training with a recent initiative led by Finance Minister Dr. Ashni Singh in Region Two.

During a recent visit to the Anna Regina Secondary School, Dr. Singh highlighted various training programs and scholarships available to local youth.

Participants were informed about opportunities such as the Guyana Online Academy of Learning (GOAL) scholarships and the Board of Industrial Training programs.

Dr. Singh emphasized that all citizens, regardless of their location, have equal access to these developmental opportunities, underscoring the government’s vision of a unified and progressive nation.

Minister of Tourism, Industry, and Commerce, Oneidge Walrond, who also attended the event, spoke about the government’s goal to train 4,000 Indigenous youths in Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

She commended the utilization of newly established ICT hubs, which are providing valuable training in software and hardware maintenance.

Both ministers expressed the government’s dedication to reinvigorating hope and vision among the youth across the country, reflecting their broader commitment to national development.
