Government Distributes Over $30M in Grants to Small Businesses in Region 3

In a significant move to support local entrepreneurs, the government disbursed cash grants exceeding $30 million to over 143 small business owners in Region Three.

The distribution, organized by the Ministry of Tourism, Industry, and Commerce under the Small Business Bureau, took place in Santa Mission, Leguaan, and Wakenaam.

Recipients of the small business cash grants expressed gratitude for the support, emphasizing its potential to propel their businesses to new heights.

Hemraj Narine, a business owner, stated, “This is very good, and I hope they can continue so small farmers or business people could go up.”

Taesha Paddy, another grant recipient, shared her appreciation, saying, “I am grateful to receive this so that I can be able to purchase stuff to improve my business.”

Ryan Daniels, expressing his satisfaction, mentioned, “The government is doing a great job so far at helping out the entrepreneurs. I am feeling great because this grant will give me a great push for my small business.”

The sentiments were echoed by other business owners who emphasized the positive impact of the grants on their ventures.

Jagnarine Somwar, the Regional Executive Officer for Region 3, commended the government’s commitment to elevating the small business sector.

He acknowledged that the initiative was conceived by the government to serve the needs of the people and empower them to serve others.

The cash grant initiative aligns with the government’s broader commitment to fostering the development and growth of the small business sector, recognizing its pivotal role in driving economic progress.

This support is expected to contribute significantly to the sustainability and expansion of local businesses, ultimately fueling economic development in Region Three.
