The government of Guyana is consulting with both local and international companies to restart operations at the former Troy Resources Mine.
Minister of Natural Resources Vickram Bharrat revealed that the government is forming a local consortium and seeking foreign investors due to the substantial investment required.
Additionally, 112 small mineral properties within the Troy Resources area have been allocated to Guyanese small-scale miners.
Efforts are also underway to restart operations at the former Russian-owned Rusal bauxite company.
