The government has announced a series of developmental projects aimed at improving the quality of life for residents of North Sophia.
This was communicated during a ministerial outreach at the North Sophia Community Centre on Monday.
Ministers Kwame McCoy, Oneidge Walrond, and Anand Persaud met with the residents to address their concerns and outline the upcoming initiatives.
Minister McCoy assured the community that significant improvements to the roads and drainage systems will soon commence, acknowledging the ongoing issues in the area.
Addressing the residents, Minister McCoy emphasized the government’s commitment to infrastructure development, noting that North Sophia is included in the broader efforts to enhance roads across the country.
In addition to roadworks, the outreach highlighted the government’s broader efforts to address critical issues affecting North Sophia.
This included a holistic approach to development, targeting various community needs.
Minister Persaud explained that the government’s developmental agenda extends to all areas of Guyana.
He stressed that the administration’s plans are inclusive, aiming to serve every community, region, and village.
Furthermore, Minister Persaud encouraged residents to collaborate with their Community Development Council to ensure the successful implementation and sustainability of these projects.
He emphasized the importance of community involvement in the developmental process.
The outreach concluded with a call to action for residents to actively participate in the upliftment of their community, aligning with the government’s commitment to nationwide development.
