Golden Jaguars Remain Focused on World Cup Qualifiers Despite Saudi Arabia Tournament

As the Guyana senior men’s football team prepares for an upcoming FIFA series tournament later this month, head coach Jamaal Shabazz emphasizes that their primary focus remains on the Golden Jaguars’ world cup qualifiers in the coming months.

Shabazz, speaking at a recent press conference, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to compete in the Saudi Arabia event but noted that management had to make subtle changes to the squad.

He indicated that the 23-man squad for Saudi Arabia would largely reflect the potential team for the world cup qualifiers.

The head coach mentioned that between nine and twelve players from teams competing in the KFC GFF Elite League would be selected for the squad.

He emphasized the importance of matches to aid the team’s preparations for their Concacaf matchups.

Guyana is set to kick off their second round of world cup qualifiers on June 6 against Panama, highlighting the significance of their ongoing preparations and focus on their long-term goals.
