Minister of Home Affairs, Robeson Benn, acknowledged the challenging year the Fire Service has faced, including the tragic Mahdia fire and the rise in deliberately set blazes.
He affirmed the ministry’s continuous efforts to bolster the service through strategic investments in assets and human resources and he also emphasized the need for a thorough assessment of every event and operating environment to elevate the standard of professional engagement and enhance fire prevention.
Fire Chief Gregory Wickham echoed the sentiment, stating that the route march was not only a celebration of service but a reaffirmation of their unwavering commitment to safeguarding the nation.
He emphasized the inner strength required to respond to emergencies and praised the dedication of firefighters and emergency medical technicians.
