The Guyana Football Federation (GFF) hosted a farewell reception on Friday evening to honor its partners and stakeholders, celebrating the visit of FIFA Vice President and CONCACAF Head, Victor Montagliani.

Montagliani, who was in Guyana to conclude his visit, praised the GFF for its ongoing efforts in advancing football in the country and reaffirmed CONCACAF’s commitment to supporting the growth of the sport in the region.

Montagliani commended the sponsors and supporters of football in Guyana, emphasizing the importance of building proper facilities and maintaining a “football-first” philosophy.

He encouraged the federation to continue prioritizing football development and to care for all stakeholders involved in the sport.

In his remarks, Montagliani shared his personal connection to football, stating, “I was raised in football,” and highlighted that the success of football in Guyana lies in nurturing the game and its community.

Wayne Forde, President of the GFF, spoke about the inspiring discussions held with Montagliani and President Irfaan Ali, expressing confidence that the collaboration would soon bear tangible results for Guyanese football.

The reception also recognized several sponsors, including BACIF and Guyana Beverage Inc., along with local football officials, for their unwavering support throughout the year, ensuring the continued development of the sport in Guyana.
