The landscape of Guyana’s tourism and hospitality sector is poised for a monumental transformation with the development of the Georgetown Seafront Resort and Convention Centre.

This ambitious project is set to redefine Guyana’s tourism infrastructure and bolster its capacity to host major conferences and events.

Situated on a sprawling 12-acre plot encompassing the NIS and GNS grounds on Carifesta Avenue, the Seafront Resort will feature over 400 rooms, making it a significant addition to Georgetown’s skyline.

President Dr. Irfaan Ali, speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, highlighted the pivotal role this project, along with 10 other international hotels under construction, will play in enhancing Guyana’s tourism landscape.

President Ali emphasized the substantial investment pouring into these developments, exceeding $250 million USD.

He underscored the magnitude of the Seafront Resort’s impact, likening its capital investment to the combined total of all ten hotels currently under construction.

Moreover, President Ali expressed confidence in the potential for further investments from Qatar, signaling a promising future for Guyana’s economic prosperity.

Ramez Al Khayyat, Chairman and President of Power International Holding, emphasized the Seafront Resort’s potential to usher in a new era for Guyana’s tourism and hospitality industry, with its five-star luxury amenities spanning 76,000 square feet.

The project, undertaken by Assets Group, a Qatari company, exemplifies the strong friendship between Guyana and Qatar.

As a testament to this bond, President Ali announced plans for the construction of a new stadium in Region 3, generously gifted by Qatar to commemorate their partnership.

With an estimated completion timeline of three years, the Seafront Resort will boast state-of-the-art conference facilities, premium hotel amenities, recreational spaces, retail outlets, restaurants, and cultural venues, promising an unparalleled experience for visitors.

As Guyana gears up to welcome this landmark development, it signals a pivotal moment in the nation’s journey towards becoming a premier tourism destination, offering world-class hospitality and infrastructure.
