In Season Six of the KFC Elite League, the Guyana Defence Force (GDF) showcased their dominance with a commanding 11-0 win against Monedderlust.
The match saw GDF’s relentless attack from the start, with Dorrel George opening the scoring in the 10th minute.
Strikes from Abumchi Benjamin, Chris Macey, and Stephen McDonald further bolstered GDF’s lead.
Benjamin particularly stood out with a hat-trick, scoring two goals in the first half and another in the second.
Entering the second half with a 5-0 advantage, Cedric Osbourne extended GDF’s lead to six goals.
McDonald and Macey added to their tally with doubles, while McDonald completed his hat-trick in the 82nd minute.
Sherwyn Ceasar sealed the deal with GDF’s 11th goal in injury time.
This victory marks GDF’s fifth consecutive win in the league, propelling them up two places on the standings.
Despite Police leading the leaderboard with six wins in seven matches, GDF’s performance has positioned them as strong contenders in the competition.
Meanwhile, Ann’s Grove secured a 2-0 victory over Buxton United FC, elevating them to seventh position in the standings.
The league action continues with a double-header on Saturday, featuring Buxton United against Slingerz and GDF against Western Tigers.
With their dominant display, GDF has reaffirmed their prowess in the KFC Elite League, showcasing their determination to emerge victorious in the competition.
