GCCI Observes National Small Business Week with Networking Cocktail Event

Georgetown Chamber of Commerce & Industry (GCCI) hosted a Networking Cocktail event aimed at fostering collaboration and connections among entrepreneurs to boost their businesses.

The event was organized as part of the Chamber’s observance of National Small Business Week.

Under the theme “Strategic Collaboration for Success,” the Networking Cocktail event served as a platform for small business owners and entrepreneurs to interact, form partnerships, and explore opportunities for growth.

The gathering was well-attended, with participants expressing enthusiasm for the networking opportunities presented.

Kester Hutson, President of GCCI, highlighted the importance of such events in facilitating opportunities for business development. He emphasized the significance of being patient in the entrepreneurial journey and taking responsible actions to ensure the preservation and advancement of one’s business.

“It is very important to be patient and be mindful that you have to be responsible in your actions, you have to be responsible in anything you do to preserve your business and to take it to the next level,” Hutson urged.

The event also featured insights from John Edghill, Director of Business at the Ministry of Tourism, Industry, and Commerce. Edghill encouraged entrepreneurs to explore the financial and educational support available through both government and private organizations.

He mentioned the United Nations development programme’s efforts in executing various digital entrepreneurship training programs across the country’s coastal regions, leading to the development of a business toolkit accessible through a simple Google search of the ministry’s name.

The National Small Business Week celebrations are set to conclude on July 29 at the Arthur Chung Conference Centre with a seminar and exposition. The upcoming event is expected to provide further opportunities for entrepreneurs to gain valuable knowledge and resources for their business ventures.
