Foreign Affairs Minister Hugh Todd Highlights President’s Engagements in Budget Debates

During the budget debates, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hugh Todd, emphasized that President Irfaan Ali’s bilateral and multilateral engagements are strategically designed to bring benefits to the people of Guyana.

Minister Todd noted that the more than $8 billion allocated to his ministry in the 2024 budget will contribute to enhancing Guyana’s image and presence both regionally and internationally.

Minister Todd highlighted that every time President Ali departs Guyana, the visits are aimed at securing tangible benefits for the country and its citizens.

Since taking office, the government has received 44 accreditations, showcasing the positive engagements on the international stage.

Addressing the ongoing border controversy case with Venezuela before the International Court of Justice, Minister Todd emphasized that the government maintains an inclusive approach.

He referred to the Argyle Declaration, highlighting its significance in keeping the nation’s stance intact.
