Food for the Poor Guyana brought joy to approximately 140 residents of the Palms Geriatric Home through a festive holiday social.
The event featured activities such as karaoke, Christmas carols, and games, providing an interactive and joyful experience for the residents.
Andrea Benjamin, Senior Program Manager of Food for the Poor, expressed the organization’s commitment to ensuring that senior citizens, often overlooked during the festive season, are not forgotten.
The aim is to uplift their spirits and let them enjoy the holiday season.
Ms. Benjamin highlighted the interactive nature of the sessions, emphasizing the importance of keeping the residents’ spirits up during the holiday season.
Samantha Douglas, Administrator of the Palms, conveyed her gratitude to Food for the Poor for organizing this event.
She expressed the positive impact of such activities on the residents, providing cheer and lifting their spirits, especially for those who may not have visitors during this time.
