Finance Minister Dr. Ashni Singh is urging fellow Guyanese to embrace the significance of Diwali, the Festival of Lights.
Celebrated on Sunday, November 12, Diwali represents the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance, symbolized by lit diyas welcoming Lord Rama after 14 years of exile.
Minister Singh emphasized that as Guyanese celebrate Diwali, they should reflect on its deeper meanings in their daily actions.
He encouraged the community to unite and celebrate Guyana’s rich cultural diversity, appreciating the freedom to do so without highlighting differences.
Various motorcades across the country are displaying depictions of Maha Lakshmi, the goddess of light, prosperity, and goodness.
