Final Showdown Set for Mash Street Football Championships Tonight

February 15, 2025

The highly anticipated finals of the Seventh Annual Mashramani Street Football Championship will take place tonight at the National Park Tarmac, bringing weeks of intense competition to an exciting conclusion.

The tournament, which began two weeks ago with 32 teams competing for the championship trophy and a $500,000 cash prize, is now down to its final four contenders.

In the first semi-final match, the in-form Taliban team will go head-to-head against the experienced Goal is Money.

The second semi-final will see defending champions Stabroek Ballers taking on a resurgent North East squad.

The winners of each semi-final will advance to the finals, which will be played later in the night, while the losing teams will battle for third place.

The champions will walk away with $500,000, while second place secures $300,000.

The third and fourth-place teams will receive $200,000 and $100,000, respectively.

In addition to trophies for the top three teams, the tournament’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) will be awarded $50,000 and a trophy.

Organizers, Sports Management Inc. (SMI), confirmed that all systems are in place for a smooth and secure event.

The body has been working closely with the Guyana Police Force to ensure safety for players, officials, and spectators.

The event has received strong support from sponsors, including the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport, Magnum Tonic Wine, and Lucozade.

SMI has expressed gratitude to all partners and supporters who contributed to making the championship possible.

With the stage set and anticipation running high, street football fans can expect an electrifying night of competition as teams battle for the top prize and bragging rights in this year’s Mashramani celebrations.
