The Police in Region Six are currently investigating a tragic accident that resulted in the loss of a 28-year-old father of one, identified as Lakchan Premkumar.
The incident occurred along the Kilcoy Chesney Public Road.
Premkumar, a resident of Lot 126 Grant 1805 Crabwood Creek, Corentyne Berbice, reportedly left his home around 4 am on Sunday morning to participate in bird racing activities in New Amsterdam.
Unfortunately, tragedy struck during his journey.
According to reports, Premkumar’s vehicle, motorcar PAD 3731, was traveling west along the Kilcoy-Chesney Public Road at a high rate of speed when he lost control and collided with a concrete bridge.
The impact of the collision ejected Premkumar from the vehicle, causing him to fall into a drain and sustain fatal injuries.
Upon receiving news of the accident, Premkumar’s wife rushed to the scene, only to learn that her husband had already been pronounced dead at the Port Mourant Hospital.
Witnesses described the scene as gruesome, with Premkumar suffering significant injuries, including severe facial trauma.
Lakchan Premkumar leaves behind his mother, wife, and child to mourn his untimely passing.
The investigation into the accident is ongoing as authorities work to determine the exact cause of the tragic incident.
