Eyewitnesses, including David’s son, recounted a chilling sequence of events. A prison escapee named Akeem Wong, posing as a traveler seeking food and directions, entered their home.
After a seemingly ordinary interaction, the situation took a horrific turn as Wong launched a vicious attack with a cutlass, resulting in the deaths of David and his mother.
Family members, already reeling from recent losses, expressed profound shock and devastation.
Paul and Carl Husbands, brothers of the deceased, struggled to comprehend the magnitude of the tragedy, lamenting the loss of multiple family members within a short span.

The bodies of the victims, bearing multiple lacerations, await a postmortem examination at the Bartica Mortuary.
