Ezekiel Newton and Skylar Charles Shine at 2024 AAG Junior Championships

Ezekiel Newton, Skylar Charles, and Kenatha Fraser were among the top performers at the 2024 Athletics Association of Guyana Junior Championship held at the National Track and Field Center in Leonora.

Ezekiel Newton emerged as the fastest junior sprinter in Guyana, clocking an impressive 10.61 seconds in the 100m final.

The race was fiercely contested, with Jaheel Cornette finishing a close second at 10.62 seconds and Robert Marcus securing third place with a time of 10.77 seconds.

The boys’ under-18 100m final also featured intense competition, with Skylar Charles taking the top spot with a time of 11.09 seconds.

Dequan Farrell followed in second place, crossing the line at 11.18 seconds, while Ezekiel Millington finished third with a time of 11.23 seconds.

In the under-20 girls’ 100m, Nalicia Glen claimed victory with a time of 12.22 seconds.

Sheneka Campbell finished second at 12.7 seconds, and Tiffany Springer took third place with a time of 13.12 seconds.

Kenatha Fraser showcased her exceptional talent in the girls’ under-18 100m final, winning with a time of 12.49 seconds.

Odessa Albert came in second at 12.75 seconds, and Tamera Harvey rounded out the top three with a time of 12.93 seconds.

Other notable winners included Leandre Benertte, Luquacy Brummel, and Deuel Europe, each excelling in their respective categories.
