Excitement is building as the finals of the ExxonMobil U14 girls and boys football tournament are set to kick off this weekend at the Ministry of Education ground.
Following intense semifinal clashes on Monday, four schools have secured their spots in the finals, promising an action-packed showdown for football enthusiasts.
In the girls’ category, defending champions Waramuri Primary Top clinched their place in the final with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Bartica Secondary.
Shenesa Thomas scored the decisive golden goal in the 43rd minute to ensure Waramuri’s advancement.
Meanwhile, President’s College overcame Santa Rosa Secondary 2-1, with Kimore Williams playing a pivotal role by scoring both goals for her team.
On the boys’ side, Chase Academic Foundation emerged victorious in a thrilling 3-2 encounter against Leonora Secondary.
Goals from Akeel Younge, Jaden Tasher, and Mark Glasgow secured Chase’s place in the final.
Dolphin Secondary also secured their spot with a narrow 1-0 win over South Ruimveldt, thanks to Tyler Abrams’ solitary goal.
The upcoming finals promise to be a showcase of youthful talent and determination as Waramuri Primary Top takes on President’s College in the girls’ final, while Chase Academic Foundation faces off against Dolphin Secondary in the boys’ final.
