–Collaboration Deepens as ECONOME Expands Its National Impact Through Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Community Development
ExxonMobil Guyana has officially returned as a sponsor of the fifth anniversary edition of the ECONOME Business Conference 2026, reaffirming its commitment to entrepreneurship, youth empowerment, innovation and community development in Guyana.
Now entering its fifth year, ECONOME has evolved from a small business podcast into one of Guyana’s most dynamic platforms for entrepreneurs, professionals, creatives and SMEs. Under the 2026 theme, “Swim Differently,” the conference challenges individuals and businesses to move beyond conventional thinking, reject overcrowded spaces, and create new opportunities through innovation, courage and strategic originality.

This marks the second consecutive year of collaboration between ExxonMobil Guyana and ECONOME, rooted in shared values of empowerment, capacity building, and national development.
Scheduled for June 20–21, 2026 at the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel, ECONOME V is expected to attract hundreds of entrepreneurs, students, industry leaders, policymakers and emerging leaders for an immersive two-day experience blending business, culture, networking and inspiration.
Founder of ECONOME, Matthew Gaul, described the continued relationship as evidence of the conference’s growing national impact.
“To have ExxonMobil Guyana return for a second year is both humbling and powerful. It signals belief, not just in an event, but in a movement centered on expanding opportunity, building entrepreneurial confidence, and helping Guyanese think beyond traditional limitations. ECONOME was created to challenge people to think differently about business, innovation and their own potential. This collaborationstrengthens our ability to deepen that mission across Guyana.”
As part of this year’s expanded impact agenda, ECONOME,with support from ExxonMobil Guyana, will also launch a special community engagement initiative in St. Cuthbert’s Mission ahead of the conference. The outreach programme will include a Business & Entrepreneurship Forum focused on opportunity creation, financial literacy, digital transformation and mental wellness, a Medical Outreach Initiative aimed at supporting community health and wellnessand a Sports & Youth Engagement Programme designed to foster teamwork, confidence and positive youth development.
The initiative reflects ECONOME’s broader philosophy that entrepreneurship and development must extend beyond conference rooms and directly impact communities across Guyana.
Over the past four years, ECONOME has hosted major business conversations, connected SMEs to opportunities, created mentorship experiences for young entrepreneurs and students, and built a growing ecosystem around innovation, ambition and Caribbean excellence.
