The trophy for the inaugural ExxonMobil Guyana Global Super League (GSL) was officially unveiled during Indian Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s state visit to Guyana.

The event also featured cricketing legends Sir Clive Lloyd and Alvin Kallicharran, further elevating the occasion.

According to Super League representative Romario Samaroo, preparations for the tournament are on track, with all systems in place for what is anticipated to be an extraordinary sporting spectacle.

Samaroo highlighted the unique design of the trophy, which embodies Guyana’s rich cricketing heritage and global recognition.

The Global Super League will feature five teams—Guyana Amazon Warriors, Hampshire Hawks, Lahore Qalandars, Rangpur Riders, and Victoria—competing for a US$1 million prize pool.

Ninety percent of the Guyana Amazon Warriors squad is already in the country, with the remainder expected to arrive later today.

The tournament is scheduled to run from November 26 to December 6, 2024, with all 11 matches to be played at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence.

Cricket enthusiasts from around the world are expected to tune in as Guyana takes center stage for this historic event.
