Exxon Mobil recently organized an open-door event aimed at explaining the safety considerations associated with the construction of a gas pipeline on the west side of Guyana.
Held at the Aracari Resort, the event targeted neighboring communities to the Gas-to-Shore project.
Friedrich Krispin, ExxonMobil’s Gas to Shore Manager, emphasized the importance of community awareness regarding the company’s activities, potential benefits, and safety measures associated with the project.
He highlighted ExxonMobil’s commitment to completing the pipe-laying project on schedule and assisting the government of Guyana in completing the energy plant by mid-2025.
Krispin emphasized the necessity of collaboration with the people of Guyana for the successful delivery of gas once both projects are completed.
The primary focus of the event was to educate the community about the safety aspects of constructing and operating a gas pipeline in their vicinity.
Krispin emphasized the need for respect for the pipeline’s right-of-way and distributed brochures to help the community understand the pipeline’s construction, contents, and safety protocols.
Krispin underscored the transformative impact of the Gas-to-Shore project on the country, particularly in reducing the cost of energy generation and promoting the growth of new and existing manufacturing industries.
He highlighted the project’s potential to generate electricity with a lower carbon footprint, increased reliability, and significantly reduced costs compared to current methods.
The pipe works for the project are expected to be completed by October of the current year, marking a significant milestone in the development of Guyana’s energy infrastructure.
