Expanding Educational Opportunities through International Partnerships

His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Irfaan Ali

Local educational institutions are joining forces with international partners to enhance and broaden educational services in Guyana.

This collaborative effort aligns with the government’s commitment to fostering regional skill development.

As the educational landscape in Guyana evolves, local tertiary institutions are striving to meet global standards.

President Irfaan Ali recently announced significant initiatives, including a partnership between the University of Guyana and major Centres of Excellence worldwide to introduce new educational offerings.

Additionally, the Guyana School of Agriculture is collaborating with IICA, and the University of the West Indies is also involved in this endeavor.

President Ali emphasized that the objective extends beyond Guyana’s borders, aiming to contribute to the development of the entire region.

President Ali stressed the importance of greater integration within the tertiary education system.

This means that individuals pursuing a diploma at institutions like the GTI will have a seamless transition pathway to degree programs at the University.
