The Guyana Cricket Board’s T10 Blast witnessed thrilling matches as the Essequibo Anacondas and the Demerara Hawks clinched victories at the Maltenose Sports Club ground.
In the first encounter, the Essequibo Anacondas faced off against the Essequibo Jaguars in a high-scoring affair.
Despite the Jaguars’ impressive total of 122 for five, led by Chanderpaul Hemraj and Shemroy Barrington, the Anacondas chased down the target of 123 runs with two overs to spare.
Raymond Perez’s explosive knock of 66 runs, supported by Kevon Boodie, propelled the Anacondas to victory.
The Jaguars’ bowling efforts were led by Carlos La Rose and Demeter Cameron.
In the second match, the Demerara Hawks battled the Demerara Pitbulls, emerging victorious by four runs.
Akshaya Persaud’s stellar performance with the bat, scoring 74 runs, guided the Hawks to a modest total of 112 for seven.
Despite a valiant effort from the Pitbulls, led by Damian Vantull and Christopher Barnwell, the Hawks’ bowling attack, spearheaded by Richie Looknauth and Isai Thorne, secured the win for them.
The action-packed GCB T10 Blast promises more excitement as the tournament continues until May 13, showcasing the talent and competitiveness of Guyana’s cricketing scene.
