The league, spanning six Sundays, will showcase the talents of top clubs including Pepsi Hikers, YMCA Old Fort, Saints, and GCC, among others.
The day’s excitement kicks off with four matches featuring both male and female teams vying for top honors.
The Men’s First Division League is proudly sponsored by Farfan and Mendes, while Woodpecker Sports sponsors the women’s edition.
Phillip Fernandes, President of the Guyana Hockey Board, expressed enthusiasm for this high-caliber outdoor competition, which serves as a fitting conclusion to the outdoor season.
Trophies will be awarded to both teams and outstanding individual players, adding an extra layer of competition and motivation.
In a memorable display of their growing prowess, the Saints Hockey Club clinched their first Bounty Farm / Antonio Grill one-day outdoor title at Providence National Stadium back in February, triumphing over the formidable local team, Pepsi Hikers.
The women’s final saw an intense battle for supremacy between Woodpecker Hikers and GBTI GCC Spartans, demonstrating the fierce competition in the league.
