The Georgetown Amateur Basketball Association (GABA) Under-23 Club Championship continues this weekend with thrilling matchups set to unfold at the National Gymnasium, Mandela Avenue.
Basketball enthusiasts can anticipate an action-packed event starting with the Bartica Wranglers facing off against the Black Caimans.
Both teams are yet to secure a win in the tournament, making this game crucial for kickstarting their season.
The Wranglers, known for their sharp three-point shooting, have come close to victory in previous games but have struggled to close out matches.
Captain Giovanni Tracey expressed determination to end their losing streak after a recent defeat, citing fatigue as a key factor and promising improved performance with better squad rotation in the upcoming match.
On the other hand, the Black Caimans, also seeking their first win, are banking on their cohesive team play to turn their fortunes around.
Captain Ronaldo Kissoon acknowledged their inexperience but emphasized the team’s commitment to improving through hard work in practice sessions.
In the second match of the evening, the undefeated Wortmanville Pacesetters will take on the Prospect Kobras.
The Pacesetters, with a flawless record so far, aim to maintain their winning momentum in what promises to be an intense showdown.
All the action begins at 19:00 hours at the National Gymnasium.
The league is proudly sponsored by Wilson Plumbing Supplies and General Services, with support from the National Sports Commission through the Ministry of Culture, Youth, and Sport.
