Exciting Finale Set for Blue Water Shipping U-15 Girls National Secondary Championship

The culmination of the inaugural Blue Water Shipping Under 15 Girls National Secondary Championship promises thrilling action as teams gear up for the final showdown at the Guyana Football Federation National Training Center in Providence this weekend.

Commencing at 10:00 AM on Saturday, the quarterfinals will kick off with St. Ignatius Secondary facing President’s College, followed by Bartica squaring off against Queen’s College in the morning session.

In the afternoon, Waramuri Primary will challenge Tucville Secondary, while Santa Rosa takes on Bush Lot Secondary to determine the remaining semifinalists.

Supported by the Ministry of Education and part of the FIFA Football for Schools program aimed at nurturing and discovering young talents, this championship has attracted participation from across Guyana.

In its inaugural year, the tournament has emerged as the largest of its kind, involving teams from nine out of Guyana’s ten administrative regions.

The grand finale is scheduled for Sunday, June 30, at the same venue, where one team will be crowned the first-ever GFF-Blue Water Shipping Under-15 Girls’ National Secondary School Champions.

The top three teams will receive accolades in the form of trophies, medals, and football equipment valued at over $1.4 million combined, including essential gear like balls, goals, and jerseys.

Anticipation is high as these young athletes showcase their skills and determination, aiming to etch their names in the annals of Guyana’s emerging football talent.

The championship not only promotes sportsmanship but also underscores the importance of grassroots football development across the country.
