Preparations at the Everest Cricket Club ground are in full swing as the Afghanistan cricket team’s arrival in Guyana for the upcoming ICCT20 World Cup looms closer.

With just days remaining until the tournament’s opening this weekend, final touches are being applied to ensure the facility is ready to host team practices and matches.

Despite facing challenges posed by recent rainfall, Everest Cricket Club President Manzoor Nadir expressed satisfaction with the progress of the works at the ground.

Nadir acknowledged the impact of the rain on the construction timeline but assured that efforts would be intensified, even working overtime if necessary, to ensure completion before the scheduled practices commence.

Nadir extended gratitude to all individuals involved in the preparations, recognizing their dedication and hard work in readying the facility for the prestigious event.

The Everest Cricket Club ground is poised to serve as a vital venue for team training sessions in the lead-up to the tournament kick-off.

Meanwhile, at the Providence Stadium, additional enhancements are being made to accommodate the Guyana leg of the ICCT20 World Cup.

Final touches are being applied to create more parking space and concession areas to ensure a seamless experience for spectators attending the matches.

Originally constructed to host World Cup matches in 2007, the Providence Stadium boasts advanced infrastructure, including drainage pipes beneath the turf capable of swiftly removing water from the surface.

Recent upgrades, such as the installation of new seats for the Caribbean Premier League last year, further enhance the stadium’s amenities and spectator comfort.

As the cricket fever builds up in Guyana ahead of the ICCT20 World Cup, both the Everest Cricket Club ground and the Providence Stadium are gearing up to provide world-class facilities for players and fans alike.
