EU Trade Mission: Strengthening Business Partnerships Between Europe and Guyana

EU trade mission to visit Guyana in November

A significant trade mission, comprising more than twenty companies from nine European member states, is set to embark on a visit to Guyana in November.

Led by EU Ambassador René van Nes, these investors are enthusiastic about exploring and cultivating business alliances within Guyana’s burgeoning economic landscape.

Among the prominent companies participating in this three-day trade mission are industry giants such as Siemens, one of the world’s largest electrical companies, Nokia, and the French Development Agency.

Additionally, a diverse range of companies from Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Finland, Spain, Italy, Austria, Sweden, Ireland, and France, specializing in finance, tourism, and hospitality, will be making their inaugural visit to Guyana.

EU Ambassador René van Nes emphasizes that the timing of this trade mission is particularly auspicious, as Guyana’s economic growth trajectory is entering a pivotal phase, presenting a wealth of opportunities for potential collaborations.

In a collaborative effort, the EU office is partnering with local private sector organizations, including Go Invest, the Private Sector Commission, and the Guyana Chamber of Commerce and Industry, among others, to identify and involve Guyanese companies in the trade mission.

The trade mission is scheduled to take place from November 20-23 and will engage with government officials and members of the local business community across the country.

Spearheaded by the Global Gateway Initiative, the EU trade mission aims to bolster investments in vital infrastructure projects and establish robust international economic partnerships.

This trade mission serves as a testament to the growing interest and confidence in Guyana’s economic potential, opening doors for mutually beneficial collaborations between European and Guyanese businesses.
