Ricardo Adams and Antony Adams led Essequibo to a dominant four-wicket victory over Berbice in the Guyana Cricket Board Inter-County Super 50 Tournament, with both players delivering impressive performances with both bat and ball.
In a one-sided encounter, Berbice posted a total of 203 runs. Kevin Sinclair top-scored for Berbice with 39 runs off 42 balls.
However, Essequibo’s Ricardo Adams proved to be the main man with the ball, claiming 5 wickets for 25 runs in his 10 overs, including 2 maidens.
Adams’ all-round performance didn’t end there—he returned with the bat to score 60 runs off 47 deliveries, helping Essequibo chase down the target of 204 runs.
Antony Adams also contributed with the bat, scoring 60 runs from 87 balls.
The duo’s efforts guided Essequibo to 204/6 in 34.3 overs, securing a comfortable win.
Ricardo Adams’ performance earned him the Player of the Match accolade.
In the other match, Demerara defeated the GCB Select Eleven at the historic Georgetown Cricket Club ground, Bourda. Tagenarine Chanderpaul’s century was key to Demerara’s success as they cruised to victory.
