The English as a Second Language (ESL) camp, which supported approximately 450 migrant children, concluded today with a funday event.
Organized by the Migrant Education Support Unit of the Ministry of Education, the camp aimed to improve English language skills among migrant children through engaging games and recreational activities.
Over the two-week program, participants demonstrated significant progress in their English proficiency.
Rampattie Bisnauth, Coordinator of the Migrant Education Support Unit, noted that many children, initially shy and hesitant, became more confident and expressive through interactive learning methods.
Camp attendees shared their positive experiences, with Greson Villarreal appreciating the assistance he received with pronunciation and spelling.
Chrisley Gomez enjoyed the crafts and new skills he learned, while Anthony Joya showcased his progress by reciting a poem in English.
The initiative, which was also held in regions 1, 2, 3, and 9, aimed to foster greater participation, enhance mental well-being, and create an inclusive educational environment for migrant children.
