Hundreds of young people and students from various academic backgrounds gathered to participate in the annual Open Day and Job Fair organized by the University of Guyana (UG).
Running from March 21 to 23, the event showcased opportunities provided by leading companies such as SAIPEN Guyana INC, GTT, SBM Offshore, and Republic Bank.
Representatives from these companies engaged with attendees, providing valuable insights into potential career paths and offering advice on navigating the professional world.
Renatha Marshall, Country Manager of Caribbean Airlines, emphasized the significance of the event in showcasing career opportunities in the aviation industry.
Gianluigui Della Rosa, Managing Director of SAIPEN Guyana INC, highlighted specific job vacancies available and encouraged participants to apply directly or submit their CVs for future consideration.
Jhasmin Bacchus, HR Deputy Manager at AGM INC, stressed the importance of educating graduates and young professionals about available opportunities.
Michael Anderson, Customer Relationship Management Manager at Keen360 Guyana, expressed excitement about the enthusiasm shown by candidates and the opportunity to network with other companies in the industry.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Paloma Mohamed Martin commended the participating companies for their support of UG and emphasized the importance of developing a skilled workforce.
The event, held under the theme “Delivering an Empowered Labour Force,” aimed to empower youth and equip them with the knowledge and resources needed to succeed in their careers.
